What if the most scandalous love story ever written was retold as a gothic, feminist romantasy?
Sir Clifford Chatterley turned me into a vampire to prove a theory — that feral creatures like me could be domesticated, civilised, and made acceptable for his aristocratic world. He keeps me chained and starved, drowning my hunger in silver and ash while he moulds me into the perfect Progeny wife.
But his gamekeeper sees something different when he looks at me.
Oliver Mellors doesn't want to tame me. He wants to unleash me. In the dark woods beyond Wragby Hall, he teaches me to hunt. To feed. To feel. He shows me that the wildness my husband is trying to suppress isn't shameful — it's my power.
Between the lord who wants to break me and the vampire who wants to free me, I discover a hunger that has nothing to do with blood. And everything to do with taking back what's mine.
My body. My desire. My rage.
You know the story.
But you don’t know my story.
A deliciously dark, gothic reimagining where Lady Chatterley has fangs, the gamekeeper knows how to use his, and burning down the patriarchy has never been so satisfying.

Buying Direct Is Better For All of Us
As a proud indie author, I'll be forever grateful for what Amazon and the launch of the Kindle e-reader did for the publishing landscape. However, the landscape is changing. and it's a scary place for an author to be when stuck in the ecosystem of a big coporation, dependent on them for access to their readership and their royalties.
In 2023, having just found success with my bestselling romantasy series The Phoenix Prophecy, KDP accused me of plagiarisng my own books and threatened to terminate my account. At the time, they owed me several months' royalties totalling about $25,000.
Until now, I wasn't brave enough to take my books out of Kindle Unlimited because, frankly, I needed the income.
However, going forward, I want to develop closer relationships with my readers and I want the freedom to be able to offer pricing discounts, free copies, bonus chapters, and all the other good stuff we can do when we sell direct.
'Chatterley' is now available for pre-order on my PayHip store. Paperbacks and hardbacks will come signed with bonus spicy chapters, artwork, and lots of other goodies. eBooks will also come with a bonus spicy chapter.
A Note From Cara
I have been a storyteller almost my entire life, but didn't start writing novels until 2016. Since then, I've been on an incredible personal and creative journey. I have written forty novels, the fortieth being my Lady Chatterley's Lover retelling, and — although my voice and passions will continue to evolve — I feel I have finally found ME and know what my books need to bring to the world.

I consider myself to be a feisty still-learning feminist with a spiritual core and a desire to help women unlock the power and light we so often dim for other people.

This is what I want my writing to feel like. Fun, fierce, liberating, and profoundly sexy, with some gothic, vampy darkness thrown in.
